The most eco-friendly packaging depends on what it is going to be used for.

If packaging is coming into contact with food, then biodegradable or compostable packaging is the best choice, as packaging becomes very difficult to recycle when it’s contaminated with food.

Packaging containing a high percentage of recycled content is always a good option. Creating demand for recycled content, in turn funds the infrastructure and processes needed for recyclingwhich in the long run will mean that more packaging is recyclable.
